Days of Pride Menstrual Hygiene Advocacy

We’re often asked, “Why sanitary pads? Is it really that important?” The answer is yes: for countless girls and women, sanitary pads are an unaffordable luxury. Thousands of girls explained that they were forced to resort to unsanitary and sometimes unsafe measures to meet their needs. These include improvising makeshift pads from old clothes, rags, newspapers, bits of mattress, and other readily available materials. The lack of affordable sanitary pads has been widely cited as one of the key obstacles to regular school attendance among adolescent girls.

So, we at Naya Sawera NGO have taken the initiative of providing sanitary pads to maximum number of girls/ladies each month with proper records. Under the campaign Days of Pride, we have distributed around 20 lakh Sanitary Padsto the Girls/Ladies in the government school and in the slums who can’t afford each month such necessity. We are spreading awareness about health and menstrual hygiene since May 2016 through 15 Sanitary Pads Banks operational in the slums.

Campaign Kokh Maternal Health & Support

Under this campaign, we are taking care of the pregnant ladies so as to decrease the Maternal Mortality Rate in India. We are giving them proper vitamin and nutrition for the first 9 months. We have also extended this facility to one month after the delivery.

Awareness again is an important part of this campaign. We try to make the women and their families aware of the good practices when the lady is pregnant. As an extra service to the society, if a girl-child is born under this scheme, we will give scholarship to take care of her educational needs. Till now from 2014 we are able to support over 900 ladies in their healthy delivery.

Project Atmanirbhar Women Empowerment

Welcome to Project Atmanirbhar – Empowering Women!
At Project Atmanirbhar, we believe in fostering financial independence among women. Our mission is to empower women by maximizing their potential and enabling them to lead self-reliant lives.

The name “Atmanirbhar” itself holds significance, as it combines two powerful words: “Atma,” meaning self, and “nirbhar,” meaning reliance. Shockingly, statistics indicate that 1 out of every 3 women in India is financially dependent on someone else. This unfortunate reality has resulted in around 33 percent of women facing poverty due to the lack of earnings within their households.

In January 2023, three enthusiastic young volunteers initiated Project Atmanirbhar, with the primary objective of providing employment opportunities to financially needy women and equipping them with tailoring skills. What started as a humble training venture has now blossomed into a small enterprise, where four diligent women are working tirelessly, not only shaping the future of Atmanirbhar but also their own.

Our talented team of women has crafted an impressive array of products, including sling bags, tote bags, multipurpose/utility bags, pouches, Kurtis, summer coats, and more. Each item is meticulously handcrafted using donated cloth from generous volunteers. What sets our products apart is their commitment to sustainability, as they are made from 100 percent cotton, ensuring an eco-friendly choice. Furthermore, their lightweight nature and washable properties add to their convenience.

By choosing to support Project Atmanirbhar through your purchase, you actively contribute to the positive transformation of numerous lives. Unlike any other clothing manufacturing business, we distribute our profits in three equal parts. One-third of the profits directly benefit the women involved in the project, empowering them to build a stable and secure future. Another one-third is dedicated to supporting the children in the shelter home, offering them opportunities for a brighter tomorrow. Lastly, the remaining one-third is reinvested back into the Atmanirbhar project, enabling us to expand our reach and impact.

Join us on our journey to empower women and create a more inclusive society. Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of these resilient women, their children, and the future of our nation. Explore our range of sustainable, hand-made products, and make a conscious choice that positively impacts lives. Remember, at Project Atmanirbhar, every purchase you make goes beyond a simple transaction; it becomes an investment in empowerment and social change.

This campaign has financially supported 22 families thus far. The new members are trained in the work of tailoring and beautician.

Snehanchal Open Shelter for Children

Snehanchal is a home dedicated solely towards providing a loving and caring shelter and residence to the children, taking into account the various conditions faced by the children. We have adopted them considering that they are our own kids.

Shelter home is the most recent and highly enthusiastic project initiated by NayaSawera in Dec 2018, which can shelter up to 25 kids. A lot of kids run away from their home because of violence or abuse, others have sadly been separated from their parents or are exploited as child labourers. They typically come to our contact through legal establishments. When possible, and in the best interests of the child, they will be re-joined to their family, otherwise, they will be allowed to make Snehachal their home.

Snehachal provides love, shelter, security, nutrition and medical care. The children here learn social values and get emotional support through counselling. They are also introduced to some basic skill development processes. Resident staff lives and work at Snehachal where they give the kids the focused care and attention that every growing child need.

The members and volunteers alike not only teach the children some basic essential skills like communication, vocabulary, drawing etc. but also spend time with them.  This is aimed towards celebrating the lifespan they have been given. The children feel comfortable and cared at Snehachal. The monetary donations are utilized towards the educational, nutritional and medical needs of the children.

Apart from the monetary donations, the contribution of love and affection towards our children nurtures them with a certain degree of psychological happiness and content. Field trips, picnics and volunteer visits work towards keeping their life exciting and keep them away from the feeling of isolation. It is also an effort to reintegrate them into the society and abolish the stigma that has been formed against the differently abled children by spreading awareness.

Till date, the organization has helped around 1000 children to reach their homes safely.
